Safety in aquatic spaces is a problem that needs effective solutions. In 2005, worldwide, approximately 856 children up to 14 years of age drowned, and more than 60% of them were children under the age of 4. As for our country, fatal drownings in Spanish aquatic spaces have increased in 2019 by about 23%. In addition, most of the drownings occurred in unsupervised locations. Datalab has developed a Virtual Lifeguard proposal integrating hardware and software to detect and warn of the approach of children in swimming pools. The great advantage over current commercial solutions is the possibility of anticipating the accident.
