Lionel holds a degree in Physics, MsC in Microelectronics, and a PhD from the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom) in the area of Materials Science centered on the development of 2D and 3D image processing techniques for electron microscopy. He has carried out postdoctoral stays in Denmark with a  HC Oersted Fellowship and in the University of Oxford working on radhard image sensors for electrons. He has worked in computer vision in the companies Faico and Anafocus and at CSIC, in the Institute for Microelectronics (IMSE-CNM) and in the Institute for Materials Science (IMSE). He has published 40 JCR articles and one patent for an image sensor. He is currently an ASECTI Researcher in Computer Vision at University of Cadiz, and he is involved in technology transfer projects with Andalusian companies like Acerinox or Navantia.
