Premature newborn motor and cognitive impairments: Early diagnosis

Premature birth is the principal cause of impairment in neurological development. In this aspect, an early diagnosis of brain damage is crucial to improve the well being of children and their families. The PARENT project seeks to apply Artificial Intelligence to process brain images and other clinical and biochemical markers  to extract a reliable diagnosis of brain damage in high risk babies. An early detection allows to profit from childrens’ higher neuroplasticity in order to design effective therapies that improve their cognitive and motion capacities.
